Chocolate Boxes
Our collection of chocolate boxes: the Malline and the Plumier
That care takes many shapes, from the compact Mini Malline Découverte to the more generous Plumier XL. Two formats at the heart of the range carry that commitment into your hands:
- The Malline, square and generous, built to hold a full assortment.
- The Plumier, its slimmer companion, an elongated shape that borrows its name from a pencil case.
Each one an invitation to taste something new. Both hold the same nine recipes when it comes to pralines, a soft hazelnut, a crunchy pistachio, a sweet cashew, simply in different quantities.
Master chocolatier Pierre Marcolini and around eighty artisans roast that cocoa bean-to-bar in the Maison's own Brussels atelier. It's the same curiosity that sends him halfway around the world in search of a single exceptional bean.
Explore our pralines to taste the full range for yourself, or discover the 3-Drawer Signature box, a single bundle bringing together Malline Découverte, Pralines and Grands Crus for anyone who'd rather not choose. The modern answer to a classic chocolate ballotin.
What's inside a Pierre Marcolini chocolate box
Pierre Marcolini's pralines wear no chocolate shell, so what reaches you first is the praline itself: a soft hazelnut, a crunchy pistachio lifted with a touch of salt, a praline warmed with cinnamon.
The truffles are richer still, dense ganaches dusted in cocoa, while the Grands Crus lean into single origins, Peru, Cuba, São Tomé, Madagascar, India, so the bean itself gets the last word. A different approach from the mixed assortments typically found in a ballotin.
A luxury chocolate box for every occasion
A Maison Pierre Marcolini chocolate box rarely stays still. The Malline of Saveurs du Monde gathers dark chocolate squares from five origins Pierre Marcolini sources directly, Bali, Cuba, São Tomé, Madagascar and Peru, while the Malline Rare Japanese Whiskies brings together six legendary spirits from Japan's distilleries with the Maison's Grands Crus chocolate.
Whether the occasion is a birthday, a thank-you, or a Tuesday that deserves marking, there's a chocolate box built for it, from the eight chocolates of the Mini Malline Découverte to the thirty-six of the Malline of Grands Crus.

Choosing your chocolate box
Choosing your chocolate box often comes down to what you're craving: the rich depth of a dark Grand Cru, the creamy warmth of milk chocolate, or a mixed box that lets you taste both. Step into that variety and let curiosity guide you: every piece carries the character of its origin, a story of taste and terroir told box after box.
At Maison Pierre Marcolini, every chocolate is a canvas for creativity, a medium for emotion, a small bridge between people. Undoing the ribbon opens the door to a memory in the making, a birthday, a thank-you, a box passed around a table and savoured piece by piece, much like opening a ballotin has done for generations of Belgian chocolate lovers.. An ordinary moment turned into a small celebration of its own.

Frequently asked questions about our chocolate boxes
How many chocolates come in a 250g ballotin?
A traditional 250g ballotin typically holds around 20 to 25 pralines, depending on their size and shape. At Maison Pierre Marcolini, the closest equivalents are the Plumier Pralines box (117g, 18 pralines) for a smaller gesture, and the larger Malline Pralines box (234g, 36 pralines) for a fuller assortment.
How many chocolates come in a box of chocolates?
It depends entirely on the format. The Mini Malline Découverte holds 8 chocolates, a small introduction to the range; the Plumier Pralines box holds 18, built for a quicker gift; and the Malline Pralines box holds 36, generous enough for a proper celebration, closer to what most people picture when they think of a ballotin.
Can I bring a box of chocolates on a plane?
Of course! If you cannot resist bringing Belgian chocolates to your loved ones, good news: you are allowed to. Solid chocolate isn't subject to the liquid restrictions applied to creams, gels or spreads, so a sealed box can generally travel in hand luggage without issue. It's worth keeping it away from heat during the journey though, chocolate softens quickly above 20°C.
How long does delivery take for a Marcolini chocolate box order?
Orders are shipped within 2 days (4 days within France), so your chocolate box arrives while it's still at its best.
