These extremely rare beans hail from a small plantation on the coast of Venezuela. The Chuao region is surrounded by mountains and only accessible by boat, which restricts the influx of people and insects from elsewhere. The cocoa beans grown at the Hacienda Chuao have not changed in decades, and have retained their original characteristics. Undoubtedly one of the best varieties of Criollo on the planet. Around 20 tonnes of cocoa are produced here each year.
